The Cult of Customer Service

Once upon a time, I was written up by a spineless boss. Seems that, rather than stick up for me, the employee who had followed policy and denied a patron a request that saved the city money, she couldn't take the abuse this patron dished out and punished me. She called it "poor customer service."
