The Founding Fathers had to compromise on everything in the Constitution, Senators have bludgeoned each other on the Senate floor and we actually went to war with each other over the role of government vs. individual rights. Lesson number one: re-read your 9th grade American history book before you write an article about America. You will probably discover that what you thought was new is actually well over 200 years old and part of what drives politics in this nation.
